We gathered in March for our Annual General Meeting when the Secretary gave an excellent overview of the successful and exciting year we had enjoyed as we came together to hear excellent speakers on a wide range of subjects, going on fun-filled outings and trips and being educated or inspired through our varied programme. Sally Kingman, Chairman of the Cambridge Federation, was our guest and had us all amused as she regaled us with tales from a Chairman’s perspective and had us laughing at her really funny jokes.
At our February meeting, Chris Bylett, Ventiloquist, entertained us with comedy, music and song, not to mention his two lovable buddies, Charlie and Desmond Duck. Chris was a wonderful entertainer and gave us a brief background to his early days in show business including his television appearances, through to the current day when he takes life a bit easier in semi-retirement. He had the whole audience in hysterics with his wit and jokes and everybody sang along to some of the old songs that were popular back in the 50s/60s. We were delighted to welcome guests from Camborne and Yelling W.I.s to add to the party atmosphere.
