Papworth Everard W.I. choir
The choir would dearly love to expand to include other ladies from across this area who just enjoy the fun of getting together and singing. The Papworth and Elsworth W.I. choir usually meets for one and a half hours at 7.30pm on the first, second and fourth Wednesday each month in the Studio next door to the Library. So if you are interested in giving it a go (no audition necessary!) please just come along or find out more by emailing jb.varrierjones@btopenworld.com.
This is a very relaxed and friendly group and the members will tell you how much joy they gain from singing. Most of us have never sung in a choir before and didn’t even believe we could sing, but after a relatively short time we were surprised to find that we can and haven’t looked back since.
EVENTS for 2019
MARCH: Ferrars Hall Care Home, at 2.30pm on 17th March
JUNE: Music and Song Afternoon at Papworth Village Hall, we shall present an afternoon of music for friends, family and the local community at our lovely Village Hall.
NOVEMBER: The Choir sing at the Cambridge Federation Centenary Meeting on Friday 1st November.
DECEMBER: The Choir sing once again at the Ely Cathedral and Royal Papworth Hospital Carol Service
DECEMBER: A date with Meadow View Care Home
Events: 2017/18
The choir are committed to singing at local events and welcome you to contact us about your Festival/ Venue. We would also like to sing at other CFWI members evenings and are now busy rehearsing their repertoire for 2018. The following dates start in Spring 2017 and continue through to December 2018
Spring time – Songs for the local community
Eltisley and Croxton Feast Week, invitation to sing at this event on 12th July
October 2017 – Saffron Walden Choir Festival in aid of ACWW on Sunday 15th October at 2.30pm
December 2017 – Christmas Carols at Papworth Hospital and Ely Cathedral Carol Service on Saturday 2nd December at 11am
December 2017 – Elsworth Church Carol Service on Saturday 16th December at 6pm mince pies and mulled wine to be served after the service
December 2017 – Papworth Day Centre Christmas Carols on Tuesday 19th December at 11am.
