A wonderful arrangement of flowers representing the World were on display at the Church over the weekend. The South Pole, Australia, Japan, Africa they were all there in their glory; an amazing effort from so many local and interested people coming together in this way. The Choir then sang a lovely song ‘You Raise me up’ followed by the hymn ‘Amazing Grace and the finale ‘A Gaelic Blessing’. A social chat followed, with Pimm’s nibbles and cakes being served to the congregation. Thank-you St Peter’s; the Choir look forward to another opportunity to sing along with you again.

Papworth Everard Queens Birthday Fete

The Choir represented the Papworth Hospital Charity by holding a stall at the Queens Birthday  Fete on Sunday 12th June.  The weather could have been better but as we can see the girls made the most of every minute and the presence of the Queen and Prince Philip rounded up the day nicely with many smiling faces.  The Choir’s next performance will take place on Sunday 26th June at the St. Peter’s Church Flower Festival.

Choir sings at Trinity Service in Trinity Church

The Choir members, looking colourful in their matching scarves, sang out  their well rehearsed songs at the Trinity Service in Trinity Church, Elsworth recently,  following which they received many positive comments from the congregation.  Everyone was invited to stay for refreshments afterwards; an altogether very enjoyable afternoon.

The Choir’s next venue will be at St. Peter’s Church Flower Festival in Papworth on Sunday 26th June at 6pm (many of the  arrangements made from the choir members themselves). The bi annual Flower Festival theme is ‘The World’ and the Church will look splended bedecked with flowers – the Church will be open to the public on Saturday and Sunday and refreshments and cake will be served – a simply wonderful occasion.

Papworth and Elsworth WI Choir is Growing into the New Year

After a very successful 2015 the Choir is looking forward to yet another eventful  year.  Our numbers are increasing steadily and we welcome newcomers to come along and see what a wonderful time we all have. Singing fortifies health,   widens culture, refines the intelligence, enriches the imagination,  makes for happiness and endows life with an added zest, it really does.  Ask anyone who has joined a Choir what it is they get from it and they will say the same.  The ladies’ Choir is open to all and we are now a mix with non WI members, so do come along and ‘see/sing’ for yourselves;  remember everyone can sing!

The Choir will be singing at Trinity Church Elsworth  on 22nd May for their Trinity Service, and  are at present working on their Programme for the coming year.  Please get in touch if you would like the choir to sing at your event.
